Jaylee Knowles
Jaylee Knowles (she/her/hers) is a graduate level intern studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Clemson University. Jaylee received her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa studying psychology, criminology, and mental health. After graduation from UNI, Jaylee was employed as a social worker in Waterloo, IA until she moved to SC to start her graduate studies. She has experience working with many ages and issues in different settings including disabled adults, children and adolescents, families, and young adults. Jaylee’s vision of counseling is, “We are in a car together, you are the driver, and I’m holding a map in the passenger seat. I can give you directions, but you are ultimately in control of the car and what direction you want to take us.” She is passionate about being an ally and advocate to marginalized groups of people. Jaylee knows that most issues are not black and white, and there is a lot of special circumstances that make our life experiences unique. She is interested in working with young adults experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. Using a person centered and multicultural approach to counseling, Jaylee wants to help clients learn to identify and cope with problems they are facing. Her message to new clients is “come as you are.” In her spare time Jaylee enjoys playing basketball, hiking, or completing arts and crafts projects.
